I see a real avoidance of self intimacy in the collective.
I have personally experienced and seen again and again in others, that we are starving for attuned touch.
In the early motherhood phase of life women talk about being “touched out” but I don’t think that’s accurate.
Mothers of young children get really sick of being touched in a way that doesn’t take their state and desire into account, not simply being touched.
How we touch ourselves and others matters.
We are starving for attuned attention on our physical bodies.
And it can be hard to really receive something we are starving for.
We reject it to reject the tender vulnerability.
We get fixated on some ideal, of unattainable perfection of touch, and don’t want to take responsibility for adjusting what’s being offered so that it can penetrate and nourish us.
How we are with our bodies is how we are with Life, as our bodies are Life in form.
Our tissue itself a physical manifestation of Life.
Our bodies are intricate beyond comprehension, wise far beyond the mind, and the holiest of the holy communication devices of Spirit.
To believe you have your body figured out is to believe your mind knows more than the millennia of evolution housed in your DNA. 🧬
Come pour reverence and love upon your body tomorrow, Sunday October 20th, 9-10:30am Pacific, at HomeBody practice, where we honor our bodies for exactly where they are.
