This round of Q+A is with the one and only Anouk, of Her Wild Womb.

I read one of Anouk’s notes a few weeks ago and was struck by how deeply I felt her Feminine wisdom. I felt she was the perfect candidate to kick off our first ReMothering Q+A.

In these Q+As I select a woman I feel has a really deep connection and unique perspective on the Feminine and the Mother and ask her questions.

This round’s Q+A guest, Anouk of Her Wild Womb substack.

Clara: What is nourishment to you? How does it weave into your life?

Anouk: Oh, I love this question. Especially because I literally just came out of being quite sick. Over the summer I poured so much of my energy into writing and outward focus that I completely let go of the practices that normally hold and nourish me. It was also kind of an experiment and now I know for sure, I need my daily habits.

It was a necessary wake-up call. An invitation back to the daily rituals that root me, the simple ways I tend to my body so she can actually carry me. Luckily, because I have a strong baseline, I always spring back into balance quickly.

Nourishment to me is found in the small daily and seasonal habits that support me on a deeper level, both now and in the future. In Ayurveda this is called Dinacharya and Ritucharya. It doesn’t have to be grand, just simple moments in the day where I pause, arrive, and choose something that feeds my vitality. I’ve always been fascinated by longevity and how I can tend myself in the present moment while also planting seeds for later in life.

I used to hold myself tightly to structure, but over time I realized it was creating more stress than support. And stress I’d argue that’s one of the biggest enemies for women today.

Now nourishment feels more like listening. What truly supports me in this moment? What brings vitality and joy, not as a checklist, but as an act of kindness toward myself?
